It is believed that Koci Selamaj is being held responsible for the premeditated and predatory murder of primary school teacher Sabina Nessa.

Koci Selamaj who is employed as a garage worker appeared at the Old Bailey via video link from the Wormwood Scrubs prison after his arrest and charge for her death.

The 36-year-old man who is from Eastbourne, East Sussex has already stated that he will deny the murder.

It is currently alleged that Selamaj attached Ms Nessa who was 28 years old as she was making her way through Cator Park in southeast London on her way to meet a friend on the 17th of September.

It is believed that Selamaj used a 2ft long weapon to strike the victim repeatedly before carrying away her unconscious body. The body of Ms Nessa who taught kids at Rushey Green Primary School in Catford was finally found near a community centre in the park.

The alleged killer is originally from Albania and was arrest by police in the town of Eastbourne in the early hours of Sunday and immediately charged with the murder on Monday.

It is also known that a light-coloured Nissan Micra was seized in a residential street nearby.

Prosecutor Alison Morgan QC told the Old Bailey today that Ms Nessa was killed in a “premeditated and predatory” attack by a stranger. She added there was no suggestion the defendant knew Ms Nessa.

In the light of this horrific murder, there is now more discussion than ever on the peril that women face simply by walking down the road. With this not being the first time that innocent women have either been kidnapped or killed while walking down the street, there is a huge need for policing and measures to be taken to ensure that these incidents become a thing of the past.

Supporters of the group, an offshoot of Extinction Rebellion, have glued their hands to the ground at junction 30 at Thurrock, Essex. […]
