The long-awaited boxing match is finally going to happen. The British boxer Tyson Fury will be defending his WBC and lineal world heavyweight championship against a fellow British boxer Dillian Whyte. The match was confirmed by Frank Warren, Fury’s promoter. This was after he won the purse bids for the event with a £31 million offer.

The Gypsy king aka Tyson Fury did say that he’ll be “coming home”, indicating that the match will take place in the UK. During this time, Whyte denied that any sort of contract had been signed regarding the match, saying, “I ain’t signed no contract; I ain’t seen no contract … stop listening to the bullshit”. That was on Monday though. By Tuesday, both of the talented boxers signed their contracts. Their fight is expected to take place at the Wembley Stadium in April. Dillian Whyte will be defending his WBC interim title as well, which he won from Alexander Povetkin in March last year and it is to be noted that he hasn’t boxed since. Fury too. hasn’t boxed in the UK since beating Francesco Pianeta in 2018.

Tyson Fury remains unbeaten to this day. Another note of interest is that both of them used to be sparring partners and are cognizant of each other’s fighting styles. Whyte said on the matter that, “me and Tyson Fury sparred and I bashed him about and dropped him on multiple occasions. Simple as that.” Fury on the other hand claims that he (Whyte) is an average heavyweight and that he could, “chop him down like a big old tree like cutting through cheese really”.

With banter from both sides, the heat of the match is rising up. It’ll be exciting to see the match and see whether Fury’s effective left jabs or Whyte’s body punches would win the match.

It is the most visited country by the citizens of the UK, estimating at least 18 million before the covid pandemic hit. One place, however, did pique my interest. That place is called Cantabria (/kænˈteɪbriə/). Cantabria is an […]
